It’s stating the obvious to point out that caregiving is stressful. Whether you’re caring for an aging family member, someone with a disability or another person who needs a lot of assistance, the process takes its toll.

I have found from personal experience that writing is an effective coping tool for people in these situations. Writing can help you cope with stress, grief, confusion and a host of other emotions.

To help others in a caregiving role, I have developed a two-session workshop called FreeWriting. The next one is being sponsored by House of Friends and it is open to all caregivers. No writing talent or experience is necessary.
